The Web Content Coordinator will be responsible for creating, coordinating, and enhancing content on the school-wide website. This role involves crafting compelling content, maintaining existing content, and optimizing the website for SEO and user experience.

The Web Content Coordinator will ensure web governance compliance, develop content calendars, and analyze SEO-related metrics. This position will collaborate with various teams, including marketing, communications, UI/UX design, and web programming, to create unified experiences for external audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Website Content Creation and Maintenance:

  • Understand and capture audience needs to create compelling, brand-friendly, and SEO-focused web content.
  • Develop new web content that aligns with paid and organic strategies and integrates with other marketing assets.
  • Perform image optimization, tagging, and manipulation tasks to enhance visual content.
  • Ensure content is approved through proper channels and systems before posting.
  • Maintain the integrity of information and assets in the content management system.
  • Optimize metadata and other inputs for improved search engine results.
  • Monitor the website proactively to ensure content is current, accessible, and error-free.
  • Create content calendars for visibility on upcoming initiatives.
  • Refresh home page content weekly and identify opportunities for brand messaging enhancement.
  • Support blogs and other content initiatives to improve website performance.
  • Respond to user inquiries and prioritize requests in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Support the establishment of governance policies and processes.

Web Analytics and SEO Analysis, Reporting, and Performance Management:

  • Provide bi-weekly traffic reports and recommendations to the Director.
  • Collaborate with the UI/UX designer and web programmer to create an effective content management ecosystem.
  • Analyze keywords and integrate them into content.
  • Educate the team on SEO needs and keyword usage.
  • Monitor and analyze SEO performance and provide monthly reporting to the Director.
  • Perform quarterly content audits to address SEO issues.
  • Conduct SEO technical audits and stay updated on algorithm changes.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, information management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in a digital writing role (web articles, social media, email, marketing campaigns, or other digital platforms).
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of website communication accessibility standard WCAG 2.2.
  • Experience with a content management system (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Kentico, Sitecore, or similar).

Preferred:

  • 1+ year of demonstrated SEO-content or analysis-related work.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or other image editing software.
  • Familiarity with responsive design needs.
  • Experience using Google Universal Analytics/GA4 or other performance reporting tools.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail with error-free writing.
  • Agile with technology learning and adoption.
