Position Title: Editorial & Communications Coordinator

Department: Editorial & Communications

Employment Type: Full Time (28-34 hours/week)

Reports To: Editor in Chief

Job Overview:

As the Editorial & Communications Coordinator, you play a crucial role in supporting the Editorial and creative teams. Your responsibilities include creating and editing content that promotes our company and expands our audience. You will contribute to the development of engaging content across print publications and digital platforms while providing administrative support to the Editor in Chief, facilitating communication with readers, writers, and various departments.

Responsibilities:

Editorial & Communications:

  • Research story angles and subjects for interviews.
  • Assist in the management of freelance writers, collecting and organizing assets for publication.
  • Report, write, and edit stories in accordance with brand standards as needed.
  • Review and proofread content and layouts for errors.
  • Provide writing, creative, and project support to the Editor in Chief as required.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, building and maintaining essential relationships with readers, writers, clients, and media.
  • Maintain accurate production/client records in databases and spreadsheets.
  • Professionally represent the company to clients and readers at events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Social Media, Email & Digital Marketing:

  • Update content and oversee our company websites.
  • Create and schedule engaging content to increase social media followers.
  • Write and construct e-newsletters in MailChimp for various audiences, including readers and advertisers.
  • Monitor email and paid social media campaigns and provide reports on results.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in editing and proofreading.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a creative team environment.
  • Experience in social media management and digital marketing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MailChimp or similar email marketing platforms preferred.
