Think Together

The Academic Content Manager is an integral member of the Program Development Team at Think Together. They ensure all academic content is standards-aligned, research-based, and positioned to support grade-level proficiency.

Moreover, they will connect rigor with engagement and elevate practices to drive toward both. Paramount in this is the development of expanded learning content, learning tools, and delivery mechanisms that advance students’ academic skills and career and career readiness outcomes.

Above all, the Academic Content Manager will ensure that TK-12 academic content at Think Together is rigorous and aligned with state standards and the organizational mission. They will work cohesively with the Student Impact team to achieve program goals and outcomes. This position reports to the Director of Student Impact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aligns academic content with adopted California educational standards, the Quality Standards for Expand Learning in California, and anchor standards for college and career readiness.
  • Generates academic content that reflects youth development principles and allows for student agency.
  • Develops assets including instructional units and lessons that allow for student academic achievement within expanded learning programs.
  • Equips program staff with approaches and techniques to deliver meaningful learning experiences that build mastery in anchor college and career readiness standards.
  • Develops and elevates resources with a bias towards implementation, breaking down targets for core program outcomes into bite-sized actionable items.
  • Models instructional deliver reflecting learning design principles
  • Provides support for data & evaluation projects that examine program effectiveness and student impacts/outcomes.
  • Performs site visits to observe evidence of program implementation/effectiveness and track trends in needs and performance.
  • Develops tools and assets including rubrics, tutorials, and sample content to allow for uniform and effective delivery of learning support.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in education or related field from four-year college or university; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience in writing units and lessons aligned to standards including CCSS, NGS, etc.
  • Teacher Certification and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in K-12 education
  • Educational leadership which could be experience as a department chair or coach preferred but not required.
  • A record of student results in curricular development and adaptation
  • Fluency in a second language (Spanish) is desirable.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Remain current on educational developments, published research, professional thinking, and relevant trends, practicing “passionate curiosity” for Think Together’s work.
  • Present and feature work externally
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities with integrity and in a thorough & timely manner.
  • Confidently represent Think Together with a clear understanding of the urgency of our mission, the importance of our work, and the effectiveness of our programs

COMPENSATION

  • Salary Range $75,000-$85,000
