Job Summary:
 
Be the voice of RoadRunner. As our Senior Content Marketing Strategist, you will directly impact the connection we have to our customers and stakeholders. In this role, you will lead content strategy and tactical execution. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling and informing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to craft persuasive and impactful content across various channels. You’ll help drive content strategy through insightful, creative marketing efforts that amplify the company’s point-of-view, attract new clients, empower existing ones and help solidify an elite, mission-driven brand. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
CONTENT CREATION & STRATEGY
  • Content Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals and marketing objectives. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define target audience personas, content themes, and messaging.
  • Content Creation: Oversee ideation and creation for a wide range of content, including blogs, whitepapers, case studies and stories, ads, social media, infographics, videos, webinars, website content, emails and more. Work with in-house creative to ensure that content is clear, compelling, accurate and aligned with the appropriate channel and brand’s standards, voice and style. 
  • Content Distribution: Develop a comprehensive content distribution strategy to maximize reach and engagement. Utilize various channels, including social media, email marketing, and industry publications, to promote content effectively.
  • Social Media & Third-Party Web Presence: Lead Social Media and Third-Party Site strategy and execution.
  • Public Relations: Support VP of Marketing in PR and media relation efforts
 
SEO
  • SEO Content Optimization: Oversee SEO (including any consultancy) and implement best practices to enhance content discoverability and search engine rankings. Continuously analyze, monitor and optimize content for performance.  
 
RESEARCH, ANALYSIS & REPORTING
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Use analytics tools to track and measure the performance of content initiatives. Provide regular reports and insights to adjust the content strategy and improve results.
  • Customer Journey Analysis: Lead Customer Journey Gap analysis to inform content plan 
  • Research: Conduct industry and company research to deliver data-backed, informed, and educational content, including video customer stories
  • Industry Trends: Stay informed about marketing industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, such as AI, to keep our content fresh and competitive in the B2B space.
 
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP
  • Project Management: Lead various cross-functional content-related projects, assign content tasks, and oversee and maintain a database of marketing assets. .
  • Marketing Expertise: Has strong marketing acumen and can act as  a subject matter expert on markets, audiences, personas, values and messaging.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4-7 years of marketing and digital content experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing (preferred) or a related field – (Master’s degree a plus)
  • Proven experience in content management and growing and engaging audiences through impactful content marketing
  • Knowledge and core understanding of B2B marketing principles, industry trends and best practices.
  • Ability to ideate, execute and track and analyze content performance
  • Exceptional writing, communication, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong understanding of SEO and content optimization techniques and tools, preferred
  • Project management and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and marketing automation platforms. (i.e. HubSpot), preferred
  • Social Media expertise, preferred
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Team player and strong collaborator
  • Continuous learner, who loves data and research
  • Strong collaborator with the willingness to grind; flexible/adaptable; always willing to pitch in with teammates to get the job done
  • Self-starter that sets a high standard of excellence and accountability
  • Video editing and/or production experience, a plus
