What You’ll Do

Working in Inside Sales, the Content Specialist will be responsible for the following primary duties:

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver effective sales and solution-based presentations in an online environment and customizes presentations for optimal virtual delivery.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of virtual presentations and act as an expert for internal colleagues on best practices for virtual delivery.
  • Work with Inside Sales Account Executives to understand client needs and transfer this knowledge to pre-sales, sales, and post-sales environments.
  • Prepare and deliver effective interactive workshops that reflect new and creative ideas relating to current issues and market trends and provides stimulating ideas for teachers to take back to their classrooms.
  • Partner with Inside Sales leadership on strategies to drive revenue and provide full consultative approach to sales.
  • Comprehensively cover all sales points, hitting on the competition, and effectively closing the presentation with a call to action on the part of the customer.
  • Deliver implementation training that builds comprehensive product knowledge and effectively prepares teachers to use resources from HMH programs.
  • Acts as lead to provide continuous support to Inside Sales Account Executives through communication, webinars, and in-person sessions to support AE knowledge of programs, products, market trends and issues and competitor information.

Secondary Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in training programs to master HMH programs, services, and competitive advantages.
  • Demonstrate understanding of assigned disciplines, including core and supplemental products, as well as technology associated with such products.
  • Prepare monthly reports for manager.
  • Customize the sales message with awareness of customer needs, campaign issues, and competitive knowledge.
  • Work to refine and develop market, curriculum, and product knowledge by reading the market, recognizing trends, determining customer needs, and communicating effectively with the sales team.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of subject matter and curricular issues and utilizes information to build a foundation for effective communication with customers.
  • Demonstrate a depth of product knowledge to position products in a way that reflects product strengths while aligning with market issues, curriculum trends, and customer needs.
  • Utilize knowledge of competitors’ products to enhance product positioning.
  • Serves as a resource for customers and colleagues when market or product information is needed.
  • Stays abreast of new developments in technology.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or other job-related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of successful ELA teaching experience in grades K-12.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Collaboration skills.
  • Highly organized and able to transfer strategies into actions that deliver results.
  • Outstanding presentation skills with ability to develop same skills in others.
  • Able to use MS Office Suite and HMH provider of online presentation platform.
  • Preferred but not necessary: Video Editing Skills/Master’s Degree/

Benefits And Salary Range

Salary Range – $80K – $90K + Commission
