PaymentCloud is a dynamic and innovative finance company seeking a creative and detail-oriented Content Strategist to join our established team. As a Content Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing brand awareness and educating our audience on complex, finance-related topics.

This position will report to the Content Manager and is responsible for contributing to the development, execution, and ongoing maintenance of PaymentCloud and its affiliated brand’s multiplatform content strategy. In this position, you will write and edit pieces according to our brand guidelines, focusing on high-quality, easily digestible content.

The Content Strategist will be the first set of eyes on written content and will therefore need to be skilled, creative, and deadline-driven with proven success in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Write engaging blog posts, YouTube scripts, and marketing copy to promote our services and industry-related subjects.
  • Editing and Proofreading: Review, re-structure, edit, and fact-check articles produced by our content writers.
  • Collaborate: Develop engaging content with SEO and Design teams to ensure quality and brand voice.
  • Strategize: Directly work with the Content Manager on content strategy across multiple brands.
  • Leadership & Training: Assist team members with best practices with content editing and proofreading.
  • Research: Utilize in-house industry experts and online sources to conduct thorough research on various topics and identify emerging trends.
  • SEO Optimization: Optimize published content using SEO best practices, maintaining our established brand voice and content guidelines.
  • Editorial Calendar: Adhere to the editorial calendar and ensure the timely publication of content.
  • Idea Generation: Generate fresh and innovative ideas related to industry-specific topics.
  • Diverse Content: Create and/or collaborate on press releases, internal resources, email communications, social media campaigns, and other additional deliverables.
  • Brand Liaison: Be the contact for external brands, freelancers, and/or software partners to deliver on internal goals and projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of prior professional experience in content creation or related fields.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, showcasing strong editorial judgment, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to include branded storytelling.
  • Highly reliable, organized, resourceful, and flexible.
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative, engaged team player.
  • Familiarity with editorial standards, content processes, copywriting, and SEO.
  • Proficient with Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, CMSs such as WordPress or HubSpot, and task management systems such as Monday or Trello. Other technologies such as Canva and Mailchimp are a plus.
