The Missouri Office of Refugee Administration (MO-ORA) is responsible for components of refugee resettlement programs, including youth mentoring, refugee school impact, and more for the state of Missouri. MO-ORA is a private non-profit arm of International Institute of St. Louis.

MO-ORA is looking for a Digital Content Associate to support our growing communications efforts and take the lead on MO-ORA’s digital content.

The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to meet deadlines as well as have an eye for detail and design. They will be able to work independently and in collaboration with a range of team members and partners across the state.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in compiling content for newsletters, website, social media platforms and other outreach materials.
  • Plan social media campaigns and conceptualize and design accompanying graphics.
  • Assist in maintaining a content marketing calendar that schedules all aspects of the creation and delivery of content throughout the year.
  • Assist in implementing aspects of strategic communications plan and engagement strategy.
  • Assist with events, including but not limited to World Refugee Day, Welcoming Week, Festival of Nations, and quarterly meetings.
  • Increase presence and manage social media interactions on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn
  • Perform regular analytic evaluations of website and social media platform impact, tracking patterns and impact in order to implement key strategies for result-driven goals
  • Assist in managing incoming messages across social media platforms with appropriate messaging and direct information
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in using social media platforms and planning tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Highly creative and able to think outside the box to solve problems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canva, Microsoft Office, Hootsuite, and Zoom preferred.
  • Experience in copywriting and graphic design a plus.
  • Familiarity with Squarespace, Constant Contact, and Adobe Creative Suite also a plus!
  • Ability to prioritize, effectively manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team as necessary.
  • Ability to work productively in a multicultural environment and demonstrate respect for differences.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field. Those with the equivalent level of experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • 1-2 years of experience in communications role or similar capacity.
