The Director of Content is responsible for planning, building, and managing editorial and advertising projects and partnerships.

The role involves creating unique, on-brand content and social offerings across multiple platforms, including web, social media, video, podcasts, and print. The Director of Content must possess strong project management and organizational skills, editorial expertise, and leadership qualities. This role ensures the quality, integrity, and accuracy of all content for events, magazines, special sections, and special projects.

The Executive Editor, who manages the budget for special products, oversees freelancers, and seeks cost-saving opportunities, reports to the Director of Content.

The Director of Content is responsible for managing the team and establishing a culture of professionalism. Additionally, the Executive Editor collaborates with advertising and news leadership to plan, develop, and execute revenue projects across various platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all content related to events, special publications, including magazines, and additional advertising initiatives.
  • Plan and conceive advertising and event special projects, including print sections, online content, videos, and scripts.
  • Assign all content for special projects, including stories, photos, and design.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure deadlines are met and content meets high editorial standards.
  • Oversee all editorial components of events.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of experience in an editing, management, and/or team leader role.
  • Journalism experience, including editing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Skills:

  • Exceptional editor, proofreader, and writer.
  • Ability to guide, contribute to, and lead large-scale advertising content projects.
  • Proficient in multitasking and managing multiple freelancers to create high-quality content.
  • Proficient in using social media as a newsgathering and promotional tool.
