Job Purpose

Responsible for developing and writing best-in-class creative and concept execution across all communication channels including social media, print, video, and web. Develops benefit-oriented product positioning and names. Creates and develops relevant content solutions that are scalable, customizable, and adaptable based on global market variations and needs. Applies strategic thinking, search engine optimization knowledge, and analytics to deliver content and optimize content performance to meet marketing and sales objectives. Supports the Manager, Content Strategy in maintaining a consistent brand voice across all mediums for product launches and programs that support the sales force and engage the consumer.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Copywriting and Editing: Concepts, manages, writes, and produces copy for high profile, complex projects that support marketing and sales enablement initiatives to meet product, brand, business opportunity, and Independent Beauty Consultants growth goals. This involves creating compelling headlines, body copy, and calls to action that drive engagement and conversion based on customer journeys and developing strong positioning and product names. Content is created for various marketing channels including advertising, video, sales force support materials, print catalog, product descriptions, digital, and social media campaigns. Partners and seeks input, direction, and approval from Marketing and Creative leadership to create content that will support the company goals, consumer engagement and sales force needs. May at times provide direction for team members and\or external resources required to execute projects.
  • Content Strategy Development: Partners with Content Strategy leadership and team to develop comprehensive global content strategies that align with the Company strategy, business objectives, and brand identity. This includes translating marketing goals, Sales Force understanding, relevant insights, content performance metrics, product strategy, and industry trends into content strategies that identify key messages, audiences, and channels. Creates and contributes to positioning and naming. Ensures understanding of a product’s positioning that carries through to the marketing assets.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with other departments such as global and regional marketing, digital, sales, product business leads, and creative partners to ensure the content strategy and execution supports their objectives. Thoroughly understands the scope and market adaptation needs of projects to deliver content that resonates globally while supporting local market needs.
  • Brand Consistency and Voice: Ensure content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience. Plans and creates SEO content performing keyword research, analyzing metrics, recommending topics and ideas to improve SEO, sharing best practices with global partners, understanding digital platform needs. Partners with SEO team to advance SEO initiatives. Contributes to brand voice guide updates to reflect long-term shifts in brand strategy and industry best practices.
  • Content Governance: Partner closely with internal regulatory, research and development, legal, and product development to ensure content quality, accuracy, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Insights and Analysis: Stays up to date with trends, tools, technology, and other best practices in content marketing. Shares relevant information and resources with the content team and other partners to strengthen internal expertise and content development. Uses data, insights, and performance metrics to continually improve content performance.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Education – Bachelors Degree with a focus in advertising, communications, marketing or equivalent

Experience – 5+ years relevant experience

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of writing techniques, creative writing approaches, English, and grammar. Must be able to adapt writing style to a variety of audiences. Must be able to synthesize vast amounts of information from a variety of sources in order to arrive at the key benefits about a product.
  • Must have excellent project management skills in order to adapt quickly and effectively to changing priorities and regional needs.
  • Requires ability to motivate and influence others; ability to work in team environment; ability to evaluate client direction in terms of objectives and purpose and solve problems. Must be able to work on several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Must be able to keep an open mind when it comes to input from others, and maintain flexibility in consolidating multiple points of view.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to be factually accurate.
  • Must have good working knowledge of word processing software (preferably MS Word) and PowerPoint in order to prepare articles, presentations, etc.
  • Must have innate creative and conceptual abilities and the ability to develop and motivate personnel to produce the finest quality and most creative materials possible.
  • Excellent presentation skills are required in order to interact with marketing personnel in the development of marketing communication strategies and materials.
  • Ability to coach, facilitate, and empower team members; motivate, train, and supervise staff/contractors; interface with individuals to develop/execute communication pieces.
